Keeping Me Going

Because I've been asked what gives me my motivation to keep going, HERE IT IS! :)
The most important people in my life. I have been through so much and these people have always been there right along side me! They are my family. And the best family I could ask for. I am truely blessed. And I thank God for that daily!

Africa Support Letter

Dear Friends and Family,

I am so excited to share with you the unbelievable journey I get to take on August 21st, 2012, to Kenya for three weeks. But more important than that, I am excited to share with you what led to this.  So let me walk you through this.

For about two years now I have had a strong feeling that my calling is missionary work.  I had been praying about my future and asked God to lead me in the direction I am supposed to go.  I have now been blessed with the opportunity to go to Kenya.

I feel as if God put on my heart to serve as a full-time missionary in Africa.  I have not yet determined my exact role as a missionary, but as most of you already know, I have a strong passion for children. This opportunity is more of a visionary trip where I will get to see the needs of the people and witness God’s awesome work through other missionaries.  I am hoping this will give me a clearer vision in the direction God is leading me.

Now that I have been given this opportunity, I am responsible for raising my funds of $2,000.

If God is putting this on your heart to join me through your prayers and/or financial support, then I would appreciate hearing from you on the enclosed response card. Thank you for taking the time to read this letter.  I am truly appreciative of all your prayers and any financial support that you are able to provide.

Romans 12:6-8 We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man’s gift is prophecy, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.

Attached is a tentative schedule that I will be following while in Kenya. It lists the places I will be visiting and gives a better idea of what I will be doing while I am in Africa.

God Bless,

Kaylene M. Jenkins

Mexico

You meet some pretty amazing people when you journey to other countries!
I grew closer to old friends.

And touched lives of those in need.

Get To Know Me!

Hey Everyone!

This post is just to give you a little idea of what my blog and I are about.

I'm a 17 year old girl, born and raised in California. I have had what I like to call, a unique childhood. I was adopted at 5 years old into this amazing family. While growing up I definitely had some rough patches but it was all in God's plan. When I turned 16 I started to realize that I had to figure out where I would be going in life soon. Well I struggle in school because I had just given up on trying. So I thought what has God blessed me with that I can apply to my future. And with patients and prayer God had given me the answer. My past and my experiences allow me to help people. And I absolutely love helping people. My future was clear. I do strongly believe that I am suppose to do missionary work.

This summer was the start of a very amazing and exciting future. I visited Mexico early this July (2012) and got to be part of an amazing experience. I worked with children, spreading the love of the Lord and got to witness amazing people touch the life of a man who certainly needed God.
I am so excited for the Journey that God has in store for me and can't wait to embark on my Journey to Kenya, Africa August 21st 2012.

Please follow my blog and journey! All your prayers are CERTAINLY appreciated.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this! :)
